Workshop on Identifying Extra-Curricular  Activities Held in Bolu

As part of the second phase of the “Vocational Education and Training Programme for Employment” (VET4JOB-II), funded by the European Union and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), with the support of Expertise France and Eduser, a workshop on “Identifying Extra-Curricular Activity Content” was held in Bolu between 21–23 July 2025.

The workshop brought together 49 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of National Education’s General Directorates of Vocational and Technical Education (DGVET), Secondary Education, and Innovation and Educational Technologies, as well as school principles, and teachers from Vocational Education Centres in Ankara, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Konya, Kahramanmaraş, and Hatay. The programme began with opening remarks from Dr. Fatma Özdemir Uluç, Team Leader of VET4JOB-II, and Dr. Balkır Özünlü, VET4JOB-II Project Coordinator from the DGVET.

Throughout the three-day workshop, group activities were conducted to identify digital content and platforms suitable for Extra-Curricular activities aimed at apprentice students. Participants worked around five main themes shaping today’s and tomorrow’s workforce:

  • Digital Competencies and Technological Integration
  • 21st Century Skills and Cultural Enrichment
  • Green Skills and Sustainability
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation Skills
  • Professional and Vocational Skills

During the workshop, participants also had the opportunity to exchange experiences and insights on apprenticeship training. Representatives from vocational education centres discussed and explored practical strategies that could be implemented in their institutions. The workshop concluded with valuable outcomes that will contribute to the development of innovative and relevant Extra-Curricular content for vocational training.
