1st Group Training of Vocational Training Centres Project Teams was held in İzmir

“1st Group Training of Vocational Training Centres Project Teams” organized within the scope of the second phase of the “Vocational Education and Training Programme for Employment (VET4JOB-II)” supported by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France and Eduser in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) was held in Izmir on 8-10 July 2025.

The training programme, which was attended by a total of 189 participants from vocational training centre managers and teachers working in VET4JOB-II centres from 14 different provinces, started with the opening speeches of Abdullah KOTAY, İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education Vocational and Technical Education Services Branch Manager, and PhD. Balkır ÖZÜNLÜ, DGVET VET4JOB-II Project Coordinator, and the presentation made by PhD. Fatma ÖZDEMİR ULUÇ, VET4JOB-II Team Leader of Expertise France, on the introduction of VET4JOB-II.

During the training process, it was aimed for centre project teams to develop a common approach to VET4JOB-II activities, to gain preventive and solution-oriented reflexes against the risks that may be encountered in practice, as well as to get acquainted with methods that will strengthen the institutional learning culture. In addition, it was aimed to provide a holistic awareness on the main components of VET4JOB-II such as combating child labour, improving the quality of apprenticeship training, outreach and risk prevention strategies, social cohesion, inclusion, student supports and institutional capacity building. At the same time, the process was enriched with presentations, panel sessions on programme components, case studies, examples of practices associated with the core principles, institutional SWOT analysis and strategic evaluation sessions. Participants had the opportunity to share field-based experiences with VET4JOB-II experts and to reflect on and discuss practical strategies that they can implement in their organizations.
