Within the scope of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for Employment (VET4JOB-II), which is funded by the European Union, implemented in cooperation with the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education and the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), led by Expertise France, the “Safe Learning and Working Environment Training” was held in Adana on 21–22 May 2026.
The training was designed as an important component of the programme’s capacity-building efforts, aiming to strengthen safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments in vocational education centres. Its content was developed in line with the needs assessment conducted previously and feedback received from the field.
The opening speeches were delivered by Hatice Güneş, Project Expert at the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education, Social Partners and Projects Department, and Murat Yüksel, Branch Manager at Adana Provincial Directorate for National Education. Dr. Büşra Uslu Ak, VET4JOB-II Quality Assurance Manager, welcomed the participants and presented the agenda of the programme.
Over the course of two days, the training covered occupational health and safety (OHS) policies in vocational education, the role of coordinating teachers in OHS processes, identification of risks in school and workplace environments, integration of safety culture among students, case studies, crisis management, and preventive approaches.
The training was delivered by Aydın Yavşancı and Dr. Osman Dolgunyürek, Project Experts from the Ministry of National Education, together with Occupational Health and Safety Expert Gülcan Eriş. During the interactive sessions, participants actively contributed by discussing risks encountered in the field, sharing good practices, and developing concrete recommendations to strengthen school–workplace cooperation.
The programme was completed on 22 May 2026 following the closing and evaluation session.
