Within the scope of the second phase of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for Employment (VET4JOB-II), funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education (MoNE DG-VET) and the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), by Expertise France and Eduser, the “General Risk Prevention and Advanced Risk Assessment Workshop” was held in Ankara.
The workshop, organised between 6–8 May 2026, brought together guidance counsellors and general risk prevention practitioner teachers from 44 vocational training centres across 12 provinces participating in the programme. The opening speeches of the workshop were delivered by Mustafa Günay, Head of the Department of Social Partners and Projects at the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Education of the Ministry of National Education and Ms Feyhan Evitan Canbay, Programme Manager for Socio-Economic Development at the European Union Delegation of Türkiye.
During the three-day workshop, practices aimed at the early identification, prevention, and effective management of risks encountered throughout the vocational training process were discussed. In the first two days of the programme, participants shared the field implementation results of the general risk prevention modules, data analyses, and teachers’ experiences. Challenges encountered in practice and possible solutions were jointly evaluated through focus group discussions and thematic sessions.
The workshop also aimed to improve intervention methods for different risk areas and strengthen both in-school and out-of-school referral mechanisms. Through group work and case analyses, participants developed concrete solution proposals and practical tools for implementation.
On the final day of the programme, a training-of-trainers session was organised for guidance counsellors. The session aimed to contribute to more effective referral processes to vocational training centres.
The workshop was considered to have produced significant outcomes in terms of sharing field experiences and strengthening risk prevention capacity.
